What is the Moyne Commison
A
The British Government appointed the West Indian Royal Commission on 5 August 1938 to investigate and to make recommendations on the social and economic conditions in the various territories.
The Commission was led by Lord Moyne (the former Walter Edward Guinness) hence the name

Suggestions made by the Moyne Commission
A
The main recommendations of the Commission were:
the fixing of wages,
the establishment of wage boards,
implementation of unemployment insurance,
factory inspections to reduce accidents,
the protection of trade unions,
the establishment of a labour department.
