Who were the Mormons?
They were members of The Church.
Who was the leader of the Mormons?
Joseph Smith.
Why did Joseph Smith fall out of power?
Because he asked the Mormons to try polygamy.
Why did they think polygamy was wrong?
Because they thought It was ungodly, and disrespectful.
What happened to Joseph Smith?
He was criticised in the papers, and he destroyed them making him a dictator. Although being arrested 42 Times this was his last arrest.
Why was it Josephs last arrest?
Because In 1844 a Non-Mormon mob of 200, busted in Carthage Prison and just about to escape through a 2 Story Window, Joseph Smith is shot dead.
What happened after Joseph Smiths death?
Brigham Young came into power.
What did Brigham do?
Migrate West, because they were threatened by Non-Mormons because they practised polygamy.
Where did they migrate west to, and why?
Salt Lake City (Utah) Because it was part of Mexico at the time and it was deserted.
What did Brigham do once he got to Salt Lake City.
He started to develop a settlement, which soon would turn into a State.
Why did Salt Lake City become a state?
Because america bought it, making it no longer Mexico Territory, also making Brigham the governor of Utah.
