Q

Describe the ‘Pan Law’ and how it is applied in Abelton (/most DAWs)

A

The Pan law states that if waveforms are played through both speakers simultaneously the amplitude will increase by 3dbs as they are summed together - most DAWs therefore actually conpensate for this so that stereo tracks panned centre will be reduced in volume by 3db.
