Peasants who belonged to the lord and farmed his land.

Peasants who paid rent and tax to the lord but could travel as they pleased.

Open-Field System
A
- The land of the manor was divided into two parts
- Half was for animals to graze (Commons)
- Half was where the crops grew. This half was divided into three strips.
