A
- passes binding laws, all legislation must be commons approved (statue law)
- can also initiate laws through private member bills

A
- Commons is expected to scrutinise the Government yo ensure it is acting in-the public interest

A
- each MP represents a constituency and is expected to raise the grievances of their constituency with Parliament

Legitimation
A
- the commons passes laws in the name of the people as they are elected by the people

Accountability
A
- government and ministers and accountable to Parliament e.g Question time, votes of no confidence

- e-petitions with over 100,000 signatures have to be debated

A
- All UK Ministers must be members of Parliament
- PM will chose most able/loyal/talented MPs to be Ministers
