What were the consequences of the USSR attitudes towards the Novikov telegram ?
The consequence of this was that it further boosted the USSR’s desire to have a lot of influence and control over Eastern Europe.
What were the consequences of the US’s attitudes towards the Kennan’s telegram?
The consequence of Kennan’s telegram was that the USA set out a policy (an attitude) of containing Communism. Standing up to it. From this point on, it was like they officially saw Communism, and therefore the USSR, its former friend during World War Two, as aggressive and something to be stood up against.

Americans Ambassador in Moscow and had lived and worked in the Soviet Union as a diplomat.
What did Kennan’s long telegram say ?
He reported that Stalin wanted to see the destruction of capitalism and that he felt that anything outside the world of the Soviet Union was hostile and looking to destroy communism.
