The Load Sheet Flashcards

1
Q

What kind of document is the load sheet? Where can we find the regulations for the completion of the load sheet and the rules for document retention?

A

Load sheet: records weight and CG settings for a comercial flight. Regulations for completion of load sheet and document retention are set out in the EU-OPS

Q

What must the completed load sheet contain? Can this information vary?
How does the process of signatures in the loading sheet work?

A

Acf registration&type
Ft ident# and date
Commander’s name
Name of person who prepared the document
DOM and CG
Mass of fuel at T-O and trip fuel
Mass of consumables and other fuel
Components of load: pax, baggage, freight&ballast
TOM, LM ZFM
Load distribution (could have it been amended?)
Applicable CG positions
Limiting mass and CG values

This info may vary by negotiation with the Authority

The person supervising the loading of the aircraft shall confirm by hand signature or equivalent that the load and its distribution are in accordance with the mass and balance documentation given to the commander. The commander shall indicate his/her acceptance by hand signature or equivalent.

Q

What must they contain?

A
  1. Any LMCs after completion of M&B documentation:
    a. Brought to the attention of the commander and
    b. Introduced in the flight planning documents containing the M&B documentation
  2. Maximum LMCs allowed in passenger numbers or hold load is specified
  3. New M&B documentation is prepared if maximum number is exceeded

Q

Where is the duplicate of the load sheet kept? Who takes the original? For how long must the load sheet be kept?

A

A duplicate is held on the ground and the original is taken by the Captain in the aircraft
Original must be kept after the flight for at least 3 months

Q

What do we do if the load sheet has been sent by ACARS/datalink?

A

If documentation is sent by datalink, ACARS, a copy of the final documentation must be kept on the ground.

12
Q

What can we do in order to check input data when preventing errors?

A

a. Sense checking: confirming figures match the actual operation situation
b. Flight crews should form appropriate mental models concerning the aircft weight and corresponding performance for each flight

17
Q

In small aircraft, how will we usually find a load sheet represented? why would we use a graph?

A

a. Tabular: loading manifest
b. Graphs: used to:
i. Speed up completion of load sheet
ii. Reduce possibility of errors in calculation
