the limits of own authority Flashcards
What is the limits of own authority
It is important that the service provider knows the limit of his or her own authority because this has a bearing on what he or she can do for a customer. e.g. the supervisor’s responsibility to inform each service producer of what they can or cannot do for a customer. if the supervisor fails to do this, then it is responsibility of the service provider to seek clarification with respect to his or her empowerment or lack of it.
Name the two empowerment options
“structured empowerment and “unstructured empowerment”
What is “structured empowered”?
for each situation there is a different set of rules. Let’s take a restaurant as an example. A dissatisfied customer may be offered a discount on the price of a meal; a voucher worth a certain amount to use on his next trip to the restaurant, or a bottle of red wine. the service provider is empowered to choose the best option; the one that he or she thinks will provide the greatest benefit to the customer.
