No - its committees still did useful work.
However, it was not involved in any major foreign policy issues.

They began to rearm, realising military might was the only way to stop Hitler

No - it met again in April 1946 but this was its final ever meeting
Did any parts of the League live on after the League officially finished?
Yes, many lived on as part of the new United Nations
What happened to the Permanent Court of International Justice and International Labour Organisation?
It became part of the new United Nations
Did collective security fail?
In the short term, yes - dramatically so insofar as it failed to prevent WWII.
In the long term, however, the idea lived on: nations saw the need to work together to solve the world’s economic and political problems
