Q

Barometric

A

-Can aid in weather prediction
-measure air pressure ( barometric )

H= high = fair weather = air that heats up and expands
L= low = storms = air that cools, causes it to contract

Q

Thunder storms and storm clouds , hurricanes

A

Hurricane winds :Warm water cause the air directly above it heat up, and When hot air rises it leaves space behind and above the water there is space so the high pressure air flows in the space and causes wind.
:
Thunder head and storm clouds : gets created becuase of the same procedure as above but the ( a s hot air rises it take water proticale with them in the area of space )

Hurricane spins in circle, the air is not spinning all the low pressure is rushing to it and the earth is spinning under it and that is why it looks like the volcano is spinning( is different regions) it is called cyclonic action - different in northern vs southern because those diffferent parts of earth spin in opposite direction.

Q

Surface observation

A

Done from weather centers ( land base or floating in air)
It detects :
-barometric pressure
-temperature
-humidity
-winds
-visibility ( how many miles we can see) and precipitation
