Why were women treated like slaves back in Jesus’ time?
The place if women in Jewish life is very unfortunate. Although a man can divorce his wife, the woman can not. Also only men can own properties and women do the cleaning and housework.
Why did having a disease be a very bad thing back in Jesus’ time?
There were no medicines and cures to help. The people with a contagious disease often died early and were accordingly caused by demons.

A very holy and religious day were everyone rests for one day. This was commanded by God. Families would visit the sinogogue on this day.

The temple in Jeruselem during Roman Times was a magnificant and central religious site for The Jews. It is significant im their culture.
