Causes of acquired kidney disease/failure ?
‘pre-renal’ causes
- shock (blood loss, septicaemia)
- cardiac/liver failure = poor perfusion

- tubular disease (pyelonephritis)
post-renal causes
- urinary flow impairment (stones, tumours, bladder dysfunction)
What can cause pyelonephritis?
- bugs (E.coli) crawling up ureter
- blood stream
