What does a museum collect?
A museum collects and stores objects for study and display.
What does an archive collect?
An archive collects mainly written ( documentary ) sources.
What is a primary source?
Primary sources are those that come directly from the time being studied.
E.g. Photographs, speeches, newspaper reports.
What is a secondary source?
Secondary sources come from after the time being studied.
E.g. Our history book, biography.
What is biased or to show bias?
People are biased or show bias when they deliberately select evidence to weaken the other case.
What is meant by prejudice?
Prejudice is making up your mind before you know what happened.
What is propaganda?
Propaganda is used when you appeal to people’s feelings in order to promote your point of view and convince people you are right.

An autobiography is the story of a persons life written by that person.

A biography is written by an historian about the other persons life.

Census is the official population count taken every 10 years.

Artefacts are man made objects.
What is an archeologist?
An archeologist studies artefacts.

Chronology is the study of time and dates.
