Upper quadrant of abdomen, spleen forms lymphocytes and monocytes, filters blood and stores blood cells.
White blood cells (Leukocytes)
Protects against infections and disease, not released throughout the body until they need to fight an infection
3 types of white blood cells
Phagocytosis; surround and engulf harmful bacteria. Lymphocytes; T-cells B-cells. Monocytes; Macrophages
Immunity
The body’s ability to stop a microorganism from reproducing or from affecting the body
