Q

Why does ice float?

A

Ice has a lower density than water. This is because the structure of ice follows a structure. Rather than water that has a random, close arrangement; solid ice forms a structure where the bonds are looser and farther apart.

Q

The Hydrologic Cycle

A
  • During cellular respiration H2O is a byproduct
  • 97% of the biosphere is liquid water
  • Large number of the sun’s rays reach the tropics, heating the groundwater. H2O(g) rises and moves towards the poles and releases heat as it expands. Distributing heat away from the equator
  • evapotranspiration: evaporating while H2O is being transpired through leaves.
