What is the purpose of the book, “I Promised I Would Tell?”
The purpose of the book is to tell others about the Holocaust in a way where Sonia can put the story into words. Also, the purpose is to tell others, so that it won’t happen again.
What was Sonia’s mother trying to tell Sonia to do before Sonia’s mother died?
Sonia’s mother told Sonia to tell the world about the Holocaust and the pain that the victims were going through. This was part of the reason the book was written.
How do people present the same information in different ways? What does each medium or way impact the audience?
People can write books, poems, make videos, or take pictures to present the same information. Often times, certain media impacts the audience in different ways. For instance, in a book, you can understand the imagery that the author is trying to present, while understanding the facts and knowing what happens. In a poem, you can get a sense of the tone the writer is trying to set up. In a video, you can clearly see what has happened and you can hear the tone in the speaker(s). Lastly, in a picture, you can see what has happened and the expressions on the faces of the people.
