Ordinary World
The hero is shown living in his/her world. It contrasts with the special world
Call to Adventure
The hero faces a problem
Refusal of the Call
Hero is afraid to make a change, sometimes people around him/her discourages their “call”
Meeting the Mentor
Hero meets a mentor that will guide him/her towards the adventure, but the hero will have to face challenges alone
Crossing the Threshold
The hero accepts the call to adventure. He/she crosses into the special world, a point of no return
Tests, Allies, Enemies
The hero’s resolve is tested and he/she meets friends along the way, fights enemies
Approach to the Inmost Cave
The hero has adjusted to the special world and goes to seek its heart, the inmost cave
Ordeal
A critical moment in the story, the hero may face life or death and is confronted with their deepest fears
Reward
The hero has seized a treasure (tangible or non tangible)
Road Back
The hero is forced to finish what he/she started and returns back to his/her ordinary world with the treasure
Resurrection
The climax of the story, the last dangerous encounter with death
Return with Elixir
The hero is back in the ordinary world and shares their treasure (tangible or non tangible)
