8
Q

what happens during diastole?

A
  • atria relax and fill with blood so pressure in atria increases
  • ventricles are relaxed
  • SL valves are closed
  • AV open
  • some blood enters ventricles due to gravity

Q

what happens during atrial systole?

A
  • the pressure in the atria increases til it is greater than the pressure in ventricles
  • atria contract forcing remaining blood into ventricles
  • ventricles remain relaxed
  • SL valves are closed
  • AV are open
