Cardiac muscle.

What type of pump is the heart?

A double pump.

What thickness are the atria walls?
A
Both atria walls have the same thickness - they create the same pressure.

Why is there a septum between the left and right side of the heart?
A
- to keep oxygenated and deoxygenated blood separate - for efficiency so the oxygenated goes to the body and not the lungs, and deoxygenated goes to lungs and not body.
- so that different pressures can be created in the right and left side of the heart.
