- Placement: Passes through optic canal to optic foramen from brain to eye
- Branches: None
- Dysfunction: Vision

- Placement: the periorbita and passes through the orbital fissure
- Branches: None
- Dysfunction: Pupillary constriction

- Name: Trigeminal Nerve
- Function: Sensory and one branch with motor
- Placement: Arises from brain
- Branches: Opthalmic branch (orbital fissure), mandibular nerve (from oval foramen, then through mandible foramen out from mental), maxillary n. (rostral alar foramen).
- Dysfunction:
mandibular has four more branches: lingual n. (1) inferior alveolar n. (2) mylohyoid n. (3) buccal n. (4)

- Placement: Orbital Fissure
- Branches: None
- Dysfunction: Eye movement

- Placement: Stylomastoid foramen
- Branches: auriculopalpebral n, dorsal bucaln., ventral buccal n.
- Dysfunction: Facial expression

- Function: Sensory
- Placement: Doesn’t really leave skull, internal acoustic meatus
- Branches: Vestibular n. (vestibular sense: acceleration and gravity), cochlear n. (auditory)

- Placement: Tympanoccipital fissure
- Branches: None
- Dysfunction: taste and pharyngeal m.
