You can’t step in the same river twice. Everything changes constantly in a world of opposites. God is the unchanging universal law.
Parmenides
Nothing comes from nothing. Things don’t remain the same.
Empidocles
Four elements; EAFW. Two natural forces: Love & Strife binds or seperates the elements
Anaxagoras
Whole of an object exists in each tiny part of it. Seeds of everything ARE in everything
Democritus
Uncuttable atoms exist and all is built of them; they’re eternal, immutable, indivisible
Hippocrates
First doctor to say illnesses were not work of god’s/fate
Protagoras
No norms for right/wrong. Man is the measure of all things.
Socrates
First philosopher. Motto; he knew nothing at all. Discovered using discourse/rhetoric
Plato
Socrates student. Sought eternal truth/beauty/good
Aristotle
Plato’s student. Disagreed with the world of idea’s/forms
