A

Zinoviev and Kamenev were persuaded to confess, it is believed they Stalin procedures them pardon if they did.

Following the sentence, Zinoviev and Kamenev were shot.
43 other high ranking Communists and former allies of Zinoviev and Kamenev also disappeared without trial, at the same time.

Yeah ova used interrogation - torture and and questioning - until the defendants confessed. 13 of the 17 were executed and the remaining 4 were sent to Gulags.

Who were the main people put on trial at the Trial of the Twenty One and what were they charged with?

A

Bukharin, Rykov and their ‘accomplices’.

They were accused of attempting to overthrow socialism and the murder of Kirov. Bukharin was personally charged with attempting to assassinate Lenin. Bulgarian was never tortured, Stalin instead, threatened to execute his wife and child.

What was the outcome of the Trial of the Twenty One?

A

Bukharin confessed to ‘political responsibility’ for the crimes he was accused. However he refused to acknowledge guilt for any of the actual events that happened. He never confessed to trying to assassinate Lenin.
Bukharin was executed.
