Who could vote?
People voted on who was in government but only free men could vote and so slaves and women didn’t get their opinions heard in government
How did candidates and politicians get people to vote for them?
Slogans of supports written on walls throughout the city,
Their clients campaigned for them and accompanied them around the city,
They made speeches in the Forum,
They paid for public buildings and put on games at the amphitheatre,
They subsidised the baths
What were the purposes of the Forum?
It was the religious, commercial, political, administrative and social center of the city
