SS: inability to bear weight, swelling and tenderness possible fracture and sprain 4th and 5th tarsometatarsal joints
M: cruches 2wks
Mortons toe
E: abnormally short big toe
ss: stress fracture pain with during and after activity
M: medial wedge would be helpful
plantar facitis
E change from rigid supportive footwear to flexible
ss: in crease pain in the morning, lessens after first few steps
M: orthotic therapy and heel cup
nes fracture
E: fracture at base of 5th metatarsal (pronated feet)
ss: high nonunion rate and course of healing is unpredictable
M: lack of circulation can cause surgery
Turf toe
E: hyperextension injury resulting in sprain of 1st metatarsalphalangeal joint
ss: pain and swain during push off in walking running and jumping
m:taping toe to prevent dorsiflexion
