General Revelation
An indirect experience of God, which is available to everyone e.g. through scripture.
Vision
An example of a special revelation- an experience of seeing someone or something in a dream or trance, or as a supernatural apparition.
Miracle
A seemingly impossible occurrence, usually good e.g. the miracles of Jesus.
Cosmological
An argument for the existence of God based on the idea that things must have a cause, and that the chain of causes can only end by a supernatural event/being.
Teleological
An argument for the existence of God based on perceived evidence of deliberate design in the natural or physical world.
Omniscient
The belief that God is all-knowing.
Omnipotent
The belief that God is all-powerful.
Omnibenevolent
The belief that God is all-good/loving.
Transcendent
The idea that God is beyond and outside of time/space.
Immanent
The idea that God is present in and involved with life on Earth and the universe.
Divine
Resulting or coming directly from God.
Special Revelation
A direct experience of God, which occurs through a particular event.
