What is the pituitary gland?
A
Located in the brain, this is the master gland of the endocrine system.

What is the thyroid?
A
The thyroid gland is located in the neck and releases thyroxin.
Thyroxine regulates metabolism.

What are the adrenal glands?
A
The adrenal glands are located above the kidneys and release adrenaline.
Important for fight or flight response.

What is the pancreas?
A
Located in the stomach, the pancreas releases insulin. It is important for regulating blood glucose levels.

What are the testes?
A
The testes produce testosterone which helps to grow muscle, increasing the rate of hair growth.

What is oestrogen?
A
Oestrogen is produced in the ovaries and is responsible for the maturation of eggs and the menstrual cycle.
