Why was the Feudal System made?
So that William could ensure that the people of England followed his orders and that they stayed loyal.
What did the king provide to the lords?
Land
What do the Lords give in return?
They give him armies and tax.
What do the lords give to the knights?
Parts of land.
What do the knights do in return after the lords provide … for them?
They fight for them in war.
What do the knights give the peasants?
They rent out small bits of land for them to protect them.
What do the peasants give the knights?
They give them food.
What is Hierarchy?
A system where people or things are arranged by their importance.
What happened to people who broke their promises under the Feudal System?
They would loose their land and possibly be punished.
Does the feudal system make it easier for William to control the country?
William got to pick who got land, so he would only give it to the people he trusted.

Took William’s officials a whole year to do the research. Once they had finally completed it, it would be out of date as people die and wars happen.
