The effects of rain on buildings Flashcards
What is the effect that acidic rain has on buildings.
Carbon dioxide is produced
How can acid rain dissolve buildings.
It dissolves buildings by reacting with the metal carbonate compounds found in the stone.
What is the test for carbon dioxide.

What is acid rain?

What are the effects of acid rain on animals?
Fish die because when their in the water with a very acidic ph level the mucus on their gills become very sticky and eventually stick together, stoping them from breathing.
What are the effects of acid rain on plants?
Acid rain damages the leaves of trees and plants, thus thus limiting their growth and exposing them to metals in the air from acid rain.
How can we make less acid rain?
-produce energy without using fossil fuels
-use call with less sulphur or remove the sulphur from it
-reduce the amount of nitrogen oxides and other pollutants released by cars.
