He was a converted Christian, who used to persecute Christians but on his way to Damascus was nocked off of his horse and heard God. Temporarily he was blinded however at Damascus a priest baptised him and he regained his vision.
He then spread the word of God to anybody that would listen but especially to Gentilles who were non Jews.

How did he contribute to the growth of the Early Church?

Paul contributed greatly by travelling far and converting people.
He would also write letters and preach to people.
Paul would work with communities to build Church’s.
His letters taught communities how to be good Christians and are written in the Bible to teach further generations.

A church father is a religious person who has contributed greatly to the growth of Christianity and its theology.

An example was Iranaeus who was born in 125Ad and died in 202AD. He helped build church’s and translated scriptures from Greek into Latin.

His conversion happened when he was fighting a war against his brother in Law and God sent him vision whilst he was praying for guidance and help.

Pentecost was the event when the Disciples were scared after Jesus was crucified. The Holy Spirit came to them and they then had the confidence to go out and spread the word of God.

The Romans persecute the Christians because the Rulers were supposed to be children of God so to be worshipping God was to be disputing and denying that. This often resulted in Martyrdom and meant that people were killed for their religion

He built priest holes to help hide them from inspections of roman guards. He died for his beliefs and is recognised as a Martyr.

Yes they are role models because they teach us to stand up for what we believe in no matter what others say. They also have lived with a strong relationship with God and are an example of how to be a good Christian.
