What are lipase?
a group of enzymes that help digest fats in the gut and turn them into fatty acids

helps change starches into sugars. Amylase is found in saliva.

found in saliva; breaks the sugar maltose into glucose

Enzymes break down food substances to make it easier to digest

The mouth breaks down food substances into smaller chunks. Saliva also helps this process.

The gullet is the tube from your mouth to the stomach
What does the stomach do?
The stomach uses enzymes to breakdown food substances into smaller sizes to make it easier for the rest of the digestive system it’s also Churns food in its hydrochloric acid
What does the pancreas do?
The pancreas produces enzymes for the digestive system it also produces insulin
What does the gallbladder do?
The gallbladder stores bile in it to help the digestion of fat
What does the rectum do?
The Rectum Stores faeces
What does the large Intestine do?
The large intestine removes any liquids still in the food substance
What does the small intestine do?
The small intestine uses villi to take away any nutrients left in the food substance and transfer it into the bloodstream for nutrients around the body
What does the anus do?
The anus excretes the faeces
What does the liver do?
It produces the bile
What do protease do?
They break down the protein into amino acids
