What is intelligent design?
The universe shows evidence of having been thought - out in its design.
What did Aquinas notice about the order of the universe?
Aquinas believed there was a beneficial order with things working together for a purpose.
Outline Paley’s analogy of the watch.
If you found a watch and looked at the way it worked, you would notice intelligent design. The same is true of the working of the universe.
What is the aesthetic principle?
The beauty of the universe suggests a creator.
What is anthropomorphism?
Attributing human characteristics to concepts, objects or other animals, in this case, reducing God’s characteristics to those of humans.
What is the analogical argument?
One that uses an analogy between the world and objects of human design.
What is the anthropic principle?
The physical universe appears to be designed for human life.
