What are the demonstrative adjectives?
Demonstrative adjectives point out a thing or person in relation to the location to the speaker and they are translated as this, that, these, and those.
For example,
this book
these students
that laptop
those notebooks
What are the most important elements I need to
remember about the demonstrative adjectives?
There are five elements of the demonstrative adjectives:
1- the speaker who points out the thing or person
2- the thing or person that the speaker points out
3- the distance between the speaker and the thing or person
4- the gender and number of the thing or person
5- the placement of the demonstrative adjective
What are the demonstrative adjectives?
Near Middle Far

S / F esta esa aquella
P / M estos esos aquellos
P / F estas esas aquellas
S = singular P = plural M = masculine F = feminine
What are the equivalents of the demonstrative in
English?
These are the translations:
1) este & esta = this
2) estos & estas = these
3) ese & esa = that
4) esos & esas = those
5) aquel & aquella = that over there
6) aquellos & aquellas = those over there
Where does the demonstrative adjective goes?
The placement of the demonstrative adjective is the same as in English. The demonstrative adjective goes before the noun.
