As a Director, I would direct X to bring this extract to life. This would reflect the Puritan era of 1692 that Miller intended to achieve written in 1952 and first performed in 1953 where he altered real events for dramatic effect.

At the time of Miller writting ‘The Crucible’ there were threats of Communism within the USA known as ‘The Red Scare’. Keeping this (and McCarthyism) in mind, I would use X to reflect this story to my audience
