What was Moses told to do by God?
Moses was told by God to approach the Egyptian pharaoh and ask him to release the Jews from slavery
What happened when they reached Mount Sinai?
When they arrived at Mount Sinai- Moses ascended the mountain, leaving the Jews at the base. God gave Moses 10 laws and they were carved on two tablets of stone that Moses carried down the mountain.
What do the Ten commandments do?
They form the basis of the covenant between God and the Jews.
What were the terms of the covenant at Sinai?
The terms of this covenant were that God would be the God of the Jews and would protect them from harm- provided they obeyed his laws in return.
What did the Ten Commandments give the Jews?
Important guidance on how to create a society where people had basic rights and were able to live in peace with each other.
