why is the constitution important
A
- It establishes how authority and power will be exercised within a country
- It establishes the limits of that power
- It lays down the rule for how a country will govern itself
- Most constitutions also set out the framework for amendments
- It is regarded as the supreme law of the land

If a law is inside the scope of jurisdiction, it is referred to as intra vires (within the scope of power).
