It was to revise the articles of confederation

It was a gathering of delights from the states who were ordered to revise the articles of confederation
What did the delegates end up doing at the convention?
They ended up writing a whole new constitution and this at the time was actually a form of treason.

Strong national government with 3 branches: legislative, executive, judicial. this plan was very good for the larger states.

One-house legislature each state has equal number of Votes

bi-cameral (two house) legislature. House of Representatives elect on basis of state population. Senate – each state would have two senators (regardless of population). all eligible citizens (white men with property) would elect members of House State legislatures would elect senators. Electoral College (group of electors) would elect President. State legislature would determine how state’s electors are chosen

Strong national government would provide protection, maintain order, regulate trade, and guarantee the rights of citizen. Ensure that nation’s debts paid and American money had stable value.
