Yalta conference

-Germany and Berlin would be divided into four zones
-Countries liberated from Germany would have elections
-Eastern Europe would have a Soviet ‘Sphere of influence’
BUT disagreement on the amount of reparations and exact location of German-Polish border

Potsdam conference

Answer 3

-Confirmed the decision for Germany and Berlin to be divided into 4 zones
-Germany to be de-nazified and demilitarised
-Germany to pay reparations
-Poland’s borders with Germany to be moved to the Oder-Neisse Line
BUT disagreement on the amount of punishment for Germany and the free elections in Eastern Europe
