Hard Facts
- personal info (address, NI, marital)
- financial info (income, investments, liabilities)
Soft facts
- face to face open ended questions from adviser
- understand their aspirations and risk profile
There are NO regulatory requirements of a fact find

Letters of Authority

Clients may not know details for a fact-find
therefore the client authorises third parties (e.g pension provider)to provide Letters of Authority

Identifying the factors which shaped a client’s circumstances
A
The fact find shows the clients current circumstances, attitude to risk and goals however these are ‘shaped by experience’
Questioning a client about ‘satisfaction’ (with life and finances) can add more to the picture.
Helps target priorities and guide on suitable investments based from ethical views.
