Lincoln called for all slaves in confederate controlled areas to be set free

They were apart of the union but they had slaves. There were 4 border states

Tecumseh waged total war on the South destroying everything in his path. He thought it would end the war quicker

It was a union outpost. Major Robert Anderson refused to surrender to Confederacy troops so they opened fire on fort and began the Civil War

When a Confederate raiding party went into the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, they went under attack by a close by Union army. Confederate troops pushed union back to Cemetery Ridge
George Pickett
General of the largest Confederate unit
Pickett’s charge
He lead troops up Cemetery Ridge to attack the heart of the Union Army but it didn’t work
Seven Days’ Battle
Lee pushed McClellan’s army out of Virginia by fighting them 5 separate times
Battle of Antietam
General Lee marched his army onto Union soil in hopes of breaking their spirit. General McClellan found a blueprint of Lee’s attack plan and countered it. The two armies fought in the Antietam Creek of Maryland. Union won but bloodiest single day
Appomattox Courthouse
General Grant surrounded Lee’s army in the small town of Appomattox Courthouse where Lee signed the surrender documents
Battle of Shiloh
Grant was ordered to wait at the Creek of Shiloh but was ambushed by Confederate troops. Union reinforcements came to help and Confederates then retreated
Battle of Pea Ridge
Confederates tried capturing Missouri where the federal arsenal was but Unions pushed them back. Union forces and Pro-Confederate Missourians met at Pea Ridge
