Inventions can be double edge swords-carry unintended consequences,

(artifacts found in Jamestown Well- pots, clam shells, etc,. Paper Bag activity)= For example, candy wrapper- tells us food type, materials, language, science, diet, ingredients, number system
we can see what other cultures were like based on their trash- jamestown settlement- broken shells, etc. can learn a lot from it. Tell us about their diet, health,

What are positives and negatives of technology?
Positive- cell phones communication easier, but took away letter writing, people expect to get you right away, cotton gin- more cotton but increased slavery, E=Mc2, huge jump in science but led to hiroshima
Diffusion (science)
two things interact they MIX thus becoming a new thing- (bromine and oxygen)
naturalization
to give citizenship to a person of foreign birth- willingly applying for - give up 2 descriptors of culture
nativism
policy of favoring the natives over the immigrants- (stereotypes, racism)
