-highly ordered sequence of events in a cell including:
-carrying out its function
-preparing for and undertaking cell division

-makes up largest part of cell cycle
-said to be ‘at rest’
-cell is not dividing
-carries out all functions cell needs to perform

-dna is replicated and errors checked
-protein synthesis
-mitochondria grow and divide
-chloroplasts grow and divide
-normal metabolic functions occur

A
-mitosis is the period of cell division
-mitosis
-cytokinesis

A
-cell moves out of the system
-can be permanent or temporary
-can be stimulated to be backed in the main system
