Q

How does Aquinas relate cause and effect to the existence of the world?

A

He said as human being we are used to seeing cause and effect in our everyday live.
E.g. if you puh someone (cause) and they fall over (effect).
Aquinas argued that our world works in the same way. Someone or something must have cause the world to exist. The cause is God, and the effect is the world.

Q

How did Aquinas argue that the first cause must have no beginning?

A

He said nothing caused it to exist because the first cause is eternal. He said that the first cause is God. God is eternal and He cause the world and everything else to exist.
