Farnese Gallery Ceiling

- Commissioned by Cardinal Odoardo Farnese
- It took him 227 days to complete it
- Below the ceiling are the antique sculptures owned by the Farnese family
- Caracci used the technique, quadroriportato, by painting realistic frames around each scene on the ceiling
- The theme of the central painting on the ceiling, The Triumph of Baachus and Ariadne, is the love between ancient gods and goddesses
