-Jesus called when a tax collector name Levi to follow him. Tax collectors were unpopular as they collaborated with the Romans and mix with gentiles, making them and clean in Jewish law. Religious leaders were appalled when they saw Jesus eating with him.Jesus replied
-“i came not to call the righteous,but the sinners.”(mark 2:17)

-Christian’s today can learn from the disciple’s’ unhesitating response.
-They may also need to give up on things to follow Jesus
-Those who are rejected, can find a place of Jesus and be transformed
Sending out the twelve disciples
Mark 6:7-13
-Jesus sent the twelve disciples in pairs to announce that the kingdom of God had arrived.
-they were giving the authority to call people to repent, heal the sick in cast out demons Mark 6:7
Mark 6 verses 8-10
-he told them to go on the journey with nothing except a staff. They needed to show their trust in faith in God, not wealth
-he told them to wear sandals and put onto tunics: they should have a simple lifestyle committed to enduring the physical hardship for the gospel
he also talks about how disciples should accept hospitality and washing the dirt of any place that didn’t welcome disciples, or the message off their feet was a way of saying that rejecting Jesus and his message would bring judgement.
