What is the breainstem?
The oldest and innermost part of the brain.
It controls heartbeat and breathing
What is the thalamus?
This is the brain’s sensory switch board. It receives info from sensory neurons and routes it to the higher part of the brain that deals with sight, hearing, tasting, and touching.
What is the cerebellum?
It influences memory and learning, but its most obvious function is coordinating voluntary movement.
The lymbic system
It influences emotions and has control over the body’s hormones
The cerebral cortex
Deals with the adaptability of organisma

Association function: associates various srnsory imputs with stored memories
