Q

What is the function of the SNS?

A

It is responsible for the conscious perception and voluntary motor response to a stimuli. however some somatic responses can be reflexes

Q

What is the role of the ANS?

A

This is responsible for the involuntary control of the body to maintain homeostasis. for example controlling sweat glands when you’re too hot

Q

What is the role of the Sympathetic nervous system?

A

This is responsible for the fight or flight responses, some examples of this are: Shutting down the digestive system to stop blood can focus on delivering oxygen to the muscles, increased breathing rates, sweating and pupil dilation

Q

What is the role of the parasympathetic system?

A

This is responsible for the “rest and digest” system. And is responsible for calming the body down after a sympathetic response, for example: slowing the heart rate, increases intestinal and gland activity for digestion and relaxes muscles

Q

What is the location and function for the frontal lobe?

Q

What is the location and function of the parietal lobe?

A

Found in the middle of the brain and is responsible for processing tactile sensory information. including touch, pain and pressure. also responsible for some motor skills and orientation

Q

What is the location and function of the temporal lobe?

A

Is found at the bottom of the brain and is responsible for interpreting sounds and language as well as storing memories in the hippocampus. is also responsible for speech

Q

What is the location and function of the cerebellum?

A

Is located under the brain and above the pons of the brain stem. it receives balance information from the inner ear sensory nerves and visual systems. it is responsible for learning motor skills, coordination and movement.

16
Q

What is the function of the midbrain?

A

acts as a relay station for auditory and visual stimuli, is also responsible for eye movement.

17
Q

What is the function of the pons?

A

is responsible for controlling some autonomic functions such as stimulation breathing and controlling sleep cycles.

18
Q

What is the function of the medulla?

A

Responsible for controlling many vital autonomic functions such as heart rate, breathing and blood pressure.
