What are the 3 types of the Black Death?
Pneumonic, Bubonic, Septicaemic
What is the pneumonic plague?
The pneumonic plague attacked the lungs and was shown by a cough.
What is the bubonic plague?
The bubonic plague caused “buboes” to appear on victims necks around the lymph nodes.
What is the septicaemic plague?
The septicaemic plague was the “deadliest one” which attacked the blood stream and cause blood to go into the skin and cause purple-black blotches.
What was the cause of the Black Death?
The cause of the black death was fleas (yersina pestis) which transmitted the plague to the brown rats.
Explain how the Black Death spread through Asia and Europe
The plague arose in Central Asia and travelled to Europe mainly through infected merchants travelling through the silk road and trading ports.
Describe the living conditons during the medieval times
The living conditions were unhygenic and dirty with the street being overcrowded and filthy and showering not being seen as a daily practice.
How did the living conditions in the medieval times fuel the Black Death?
The overcrowding and filth in the street provided a thriving environment for infected rodents to live and spread the disease.
