What were the symptons
Swelling called buboes under the armpit, vomiting, bleeding under the skin, it affected the nervous system and the buboes would burst.

Whipping themselves

Bad air, God punishing them for their sins , bad environment, poisining of wells by jews and the position of the stars and planets.
What happend to the survivors
They got better wages and the prices of food went down a lot. Also, they got lots of land.
