Q

How did the black death cause the Peasants’ Revolt?

A

The biggest change resulted from the shortage of workers. Two things happened. First, those who worked for money demanded higher wages. Second, peasant farmers were less willing to work on their lord’s land for nothing (villeinage) – something that had been going on for at least 350 years.

This meant that peasants began to refuse low wages and barons were unhappy having to pay them more.
