The Big 3 Flashcards

Q

Walk me through your resume / tell me about yourself.

A

Of course, I’d be happy to. My name is Zibran, and I’m currently a senior at Baruch College majoring in finance. My journey into finance began in high school, where I developed a passion for trading stocks and currencies. This early exposure sparked a fascination about how financial markets and investment decisions work behind the scenes, which motivated me to pursue my degree at Baruch and seek opportunities to deepen my knowledge of the field.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I’ve actively sought hands-on experiences to complement my studies. As a financial analyst at a small real estate firm, I prepared detailed financial reports, analyzed investment opportunities, and managed client data. This role taught me the importance of precision and the critical relationship between analysis and client trust. Later, during the Year Up program, I built on this foundation by completing the business analyst track, where I strengthened my skills in data analysis, project coordination, and advanced data management using tools like Excel.
In addition to these experiences, I had the privilege of participating in the Baruch Private Equity Club mentorship program. Through my experience there I became increasingly drawn to the process of investment management and everything that goes behind the strategic decision-making process, an area I believe I’d have the opportunity to support and gain exposure to in the Operations Generalist role.

I’m particularly drawn to Pzena Investment Management because of its exceptional reputation as a leader in value investing and its focus on deep, fundamental research. I admire how the firm’s disciplined investment philosophy emphasizes long-term investments in undervalued companies, allowing for a more thoughtful and strategic approach to growth. The research-intensive nature of the firm is something I find very appealing, as it aligns with my own commitment to making data-driven decisions.
In addition to the firm’s investment approach, Pzena’s culture of teamwork and its dedication to taking care of its people really resonate with me.
